The job on this page

Clean glass changes how the whole room feels.

The window on this page is a real job. Glass slowly builds up a haze of dust, film, and spots that you stop noticing until it is gone. Utah's hard water leaves those spots faster than most people expect.

We take the glass down by hand instead of just spraying it, so it dries without streaks, and we scrub the buildup off the frames and sills too. Second-story windows are no problem in most cases.

Whether it is one big picture window or the whole house, you get a clear per-pane price before we start.

Clean residential window and frame after cleaning by Dirt Gone Wash Co in Salt Lake City

A home window after a streak-free clean

What we clean

Glass that disappears

We hand-clean glass for a streak-free finish and clear the screens and tracks when you include them, so light actually comes through. Great for move-outs, listings, or a seasonal refresh.

It pairs naturally with a house wash for a whole-exterior reset.

What we clean

  • Interior glass
  • Exterior glass
  • Window screens
  • Sills and tracks
  • Sliding glass doors
  • Storefront glass
Our process

How we clean windows

Most streaking people blame on the cleaner is actually grit: glass that was wiped before the abrasive dust on it was removed.

Clear the frames, tracks, and screens first

Dust and grit live in the tracks and on the screens. Cleaning glass before clearing those just moves the grit back onto the pane as soon as it rains.

Wash the glass with solution

Solution and a proper wash pass lift the film, including the greasy layer that Utah inversions leave through the winter.

Squeegee and detail the edges

A clean squeegee pull plus edge detailing is what leaves glass without lines. This is technique, not product.

Address mineral spotting separately

Hard-water spotting is a different problem from dirt and needs a mineral treatment. We will tell you honestly whether it will come off or whether it has already etched the glass.

What we remove

What is actually on your glass

Hard-water and sprinkler spotting

Utah water is hard, and sprinkler overspray that dries on glass leaves mineral rings. Caught early it comes off; left for years it etches the glass permanently.

Inversion film

The greasy gray layer that winter inversions leave on valley-floor windows. It needs solution, not water.

Wind-driven dust and grit

Constant on the east bench and near the Point of the Mountain. Wiping it dry is how glass gets scratched.

Midge and insect residue

Lakeside properties in Davis County get protein residue baked onto west-facing glass, and it does not rinse off.

Construction overspray

Paint, stucco splatter, and adhesive residue on newer builds, which needs careful mechanical removal rather than chemicals.

Pollen and tree sap

Spring buildup, sticky and quick to attract more dust once it is on.

Track debris and dead insects

Sills and tracks fill up and hold moisture against the frame. Clearing them is part of the job, not an extra.

"Saya came out and cleaned my trash bins and driveway, and I was really impressed with the results. He was honest from the start and explained that the oil stains on my driveway would need a hot water treatment to fully remove them."

FAQ

Window Cleaning questions, answered

How much does window cleaning cost in Salt Lake City?
Window cleaning starts at $8 per pane. Your final price depends on how many panes, the height, and whether you include screens and tracks.
How do I know it is time to clean my windows?
Hard-water spots, a haze that will not wipe away, dust and pollen packed in the tracks, and screens you can barely see through are the usual signs. Most homes do it once or twice a year.
Are you insured?
Yes, fully insured and locally owned. You get a clear per-pane price up front and a firm number after a quick count, with nothing hidden.
Do you clean inside and outside?
Yes, we clean both interior and exterior glass. You can also do exterior-only if you prefer.
Do you clean screens and tracks?
We can. Screens and tracks are included when you add them, so the whole window looks finished.
Do you do second-story windows?
Yes, in most cases. Height and access can affect the price, which we confirm before we start.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Salt Lake City and communities across the Salt Lake and Ogden areas, including Sandy, West Jordan, Draper, Murray, Millcreek, Holladay, Ogden, Roy, Layton, Clearfield, and Clinton.
